Hillman Joins Rays, Oates Promoted

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC South Carolina Stingrays President Taylor Lee announced today that Jason Oates has been named Director of Ticket Operations. Oates will manage all aspects of the team's ticket department from Sales to Customer Service. The College of Charleston graduate has been with the Stingrays since 1994. Recently, he served as the team's Ticket Sales Manager.

"Jason is certainly deserving of this opportunity," noted Lee. "He has been one of the top ticket sales people in the ECHL for a number of years and has a great familiarity with our season and group ticket base."

Jason manages the team's ticket department selling season tickets and promoting group outings for companies, schools, and other organizations for the purpose of fundraising and entertainment. The Mt. Kisco, NY native moved to South Carolina to complete his education at the College of Charleston and has a degree in Corporate Communications. Jason resides in Mount Pleasant.

Hillman Joins Staff

The Stingrays also announced today that Kelly Hillman has joined the team's front office staff as Community Relations and Promotions Manager. Hillman started with the club last week. As Community Relations and Promotions Manager, Hillman will handle the scheduling of all community appearances, act as liaison with nonprofit groups and handle in game operations for the Stingrays.

"We are excited to have someone with Kelly's abilities and enthusiasm join our staff," commented Lee. "She has stepped right in and done a fantastic job."

Hillman is a graduate of Quinnipiac University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications in May of 2001. Upon completing her studies, she took an internship with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL in the spring of 2001. Following her stint with the Wolf Pack, she took the position of Special Events Coordinator with the New Haven Knights of the UHL.

The 23 year old, is a native of North Haven, Connecticut.

The Stingrays drop the puck on their eleventh season in October. The team's home opener is scheduled for Saturday, October 18th against the Greenville Grrrowl. Group tickets for opening night are currently on sale. Ticket packages for the upcoming season start as low as $102.00.
