Jackals Get Help On Defense With Return Of Borzecki

March 1, 2003 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release

The Elmira Jackals announced today that the Syracuse Crunch have reassigned defenseman Adam Borzecki (bor-ZHEN-ski) to the club for this weekend's games. Borzecki will dress tonight for the Jackals in their tilt with the Port Hurnon Beacons.

The Gdansk, Poland native played in 6 games for the Jackals earlier this year, notching two assists and 18 penalty minutes. He was then recalled to the Crunch where he played 48 games, tallying one goal and five assists. With Jody Robison still on recall to the Bridgeport SoundTigers of the American Hockey League and Trevor Burgess attending to the birth of his second child, the Jackals have been left shorthanded on D. Borzecki's presence on the blue line will bolster the defensive corps for the weekend.

The 7 pm game tonight with Port Huron promises to be thrilling not only with the arrival of Borzecki but with special promotions as well. Tonight's game as well as tomorrow night's features Pizza Hut Family Night, offering one lucky fan a hand delivered pizza to their seat during the game. The SPCA will also be in attendance along with the Goals for Glove House raising money for the Glove House group homes. Not only are fans able to support the Glove House by making donations and automatically entering themselves into a chance to win $100, but they may also buy a chuck-a-puck from which all profits go to the Glove House.

Elmira will round out the weekend with Flint in town Saturday night at 7 pm, and Adirondack at the Coach USA Center on Sunday for a 4 pm start. Tickets for those and all future Jackal games may be purchased through the Coach USA Center Box Office, open Monday – Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Seats may also be obtained through all TicketMaster locations, online at www.TicketMaster.com, or charge by phone at (607) 722-3711.
