TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Is the second of three meetings and the Pride's only visit to Richmond this season. The Pride beat the ‘Gades 5-2 at Pee Dee in November. Greg Schmidt had a goal and three assists. Milt Mastad and Lars Pettersen scored for Richmond. Pee Dee was 0-1 at Richmond last season. The ‘Gades are seventh in the Northeast Division, three points behind sixth place Charlotte and 11 behind Trenton and Roanoke. Pee Dee is fourth in the Southeast, one point behind South Carolina.

LAST ACTION: The ‘Gades lost 5-2 at Atlantic City Wednesday. Richmond led 2-1 going into the thrid period. The Bullies broke the game open with three goals in under six minutes. Atlantic City added an empty net goal to stretch their unbeaten streak to eight games. Paul Spadafora had a goal and two assists. Brad Church and Leon Hayward scored for Richmond. The Pride lost 3-1 to South Carolina on the road Tuesday. The Pride out-shot the Stingrays 34-24, including 14-5 in the third period, but South Carolina scored in the opening 30 seconds and led all the way. Matt Reid scored the Pride goal

‘GADES NOTES: The ‘Gades have won their last two at home by a combined 14-7. Richmond opens a five game homestand tonight. The ‘Gades have lost their last four. Richmond has dropped eight straight on the road and is winless in their last 10 road games. The ‘Gades are three games below .500 for the first time since October 25. Four games under is the season low. Richmond lost a game in regulation when leading after two periods for the first time this season Wednesday at Atlantic City. Richmond is now 18-1-1 when leading after two periods. Daniel Goneau will make his Richmond debut tonight after joining the ‘Gades in a trade from Louisiana. The other player acquired in that deal, D Branislav Kvetan, has chosen not to report and has been suspended by the ‘Gades. Garret Stroshein has been re-called to Portland of the AHL. He is the seventh ‘Gade to earn a call-up this season. Richmond is 4-5 vs. Southeast Division clubs this season. Dan Lombard has started the last two games in net, his first back to back starts since 12/8-12/14. The ‘Gades have played 21 straight games without an overtime. The ‘Gades are 0-3-1 in their last four games with 40 or more shots on goal. Richmond is seventh in the league in fewest shots allowed (30.3), tied for fourth in shorthanded goals (13), ninth in penalty killing (82.6%), and the ‘Gades are the least penalized club in the league.

PRIDE NOTES: The Pride plays three games in three nights starting tonight. The Pride's loss to South Carolina Tuesday was their first this season when Matt Reid scored a goal. This is game two of a three game Pride road trip. Pee Dee is 7-5-1 vs. Northeast Division opponents. The Pride is sixth in the league in goals against average (2.89), ninth in goals for (3.50), first in fewest shots allowed per game (28.8), and tied for second in fewest shorthanded goals allowed (five). The Pride has lost four of their last five on the road.

NEXT UP: The ‘Gades host Trenton tomorrow night at 7:35 (7:20 100.3). Richmond is home Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday next week. The Pride visits Roanoke tomorrow night.
