Mike Sandbeck scored his 12th goal of the year, and Scott Fankhouser made 22 saves to lead the Arkansas RiverBlades to a 1-0 victory over the Jackson Bandits Friday at Alltel Arena.
Fankhouser earned his 2nd win with the RiverBlades, and gave the Blades their first shutout since January 23rd.
Sandbeck's tally came at 18:57 of the first period and was assisted by Damon Whitten and Dean Stock. Damon Whitten shot the puck, and Sandbeck found the rebound through a crowd in front of the net and lit the lamp.
Arkansas outshot Jackson 34-22 for the game, and was 0-for-4 on the power-play. The Bandits were 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
Arkansas returns to action Sunday at the Alltel, hosting the Baton Rouge Kingfish. Faceoff is set for 6:05 p.m.
