BOISE, ID - The Ontario Reign (45-17-3-4), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, buried the Idaho Steelheads (43-19-1-6) with a 5-0 shutout on Saturday night before 5,335 at CenturyLink Arena.

Brady Calla opened the scoring for the Reign with a quick snap shot past Josh Robinson at the 13:17 mark of the first period. Everett Sheen and Cameron Burt worked the puck into the Steelheads zone where Burt sent a crisp pass to Calla just inside the slot.

While on the power play, Derek Couture scored his first goal of the night. Newcomer Nick Ebert earned his first professional point when he and Matt Register set up Couture for the power-play tally.

Early in the second period, Couture struck again with a beautiful play with Burt. Burt fed Couture a quick pass he caught with his skate before kicking the puck to his stick. The Captain fired it on the Steelheads cage and made it through the goalie's five-hole.

Taking a 4-0 lead the Reign scored with a charging play from D.J. King, Mario Lamoureux, and Kyle Kraemer. Kraemer received the final pass and sent a laser wrist shot that beat Robinson on his high glove side.

Ontario extended their lead to 5-0 with their final goal of the contest. Kevin Estrada brought the puck to the slot and scored backdoor allowing Couture to earn his third point of the night with the lone assist.

The 5-0 score is the Reign's largest margin of victory since a 7-0 win over the San Francisco Bulls on December 14.

Mike Condon earned his first professional shutout stopping all 24 Steelheads shots, Robinson took the loss with 30 stops on 35 shots.
