
Seeing Double: Burgdoerfer Signed, Lagace Recalled to Rochester

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Matt O'Dette announced today that the team has signed F Greg Burgdoerfer, twin brother of Condors captain Erik. In other transaction news, C Jacob Lagace has been recalled to the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Burgdoerfer, 24, recently completed his collegiate career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.). He played three seasons for the Engineers after beginning his career at the Air Force Academy in 2008-09. With R.P.I., Burgdoerfer set career highs in games played as a senior with 28 while chipping in three goals and two assists for five points. In 90 career games, the 6'2", 216 lbs. right-shot had nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. Prior to going to college, he played 55 games with the Des Moines Buccaneers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) scoring five goals and adding six assists for 11 points as he led the team with 120 penalty minutes.
Lagace earns his second recall this season. He is currently tied for the team lead with 16 goals and is second in points with 36 on the year. Rochester plays in San Antonio against the Rampage today.
Pre-game jersey auction underway
Over the remaining home games of the season the Condors will conduct their auction of the team's pre-game jerseys. It got started with four jerseys auctioned off Friday, and will continue tonight and next Saturday in the season finale as well. The auction benefits the Active 20/30 Club.
Annual Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon TODAY
The Condors weekend continues on home ice TONIGHT at 5 p.m. against the San Francisco Bulls for the Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon, sponsored by KBAK Eyewitness News and KUZZ 107.9. Doors open at 2:45 p.m. for the annual Condors Alumni Game, featuring past Condors legends, and afterward their pink Hockey-Thon jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money for Links for Life.
