BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - It took seven rounds in the shootout to decide, but the Ontario Reign came away with a 3-2 win against the Bakersfield Condors, before 6,226 fans at Rabobank Arena Saturday night.

The Condors (13-22-6, 32pts) came out hard for the second straight night, but also for the second straight night fell behind 1-0. D Dan Knapp notched his fourth of the season at 10:09 to take the lead. Bakersfield continued to battle throughout the frame, and got the tying tally in the final minute. C Dave Bonk chipped in his 13th of the season with 33 seconds remaining in the period to make it 1-1.

Bakersfield dominated the middle stanza, but could get nothing past G John Murray. They held the Reign (22-14-3, 47pts) without a shot for the first 12-plus minutes of the period, but it remained 1-1. Condors G Dave McKee saw just four shots on goal in the frame, and Bakersfield led overall 25-13 in shots through 40 minutes, though the score remained tied.

Early in the third frame, the Condors pushed out in front. F Matt Pope netted his team-leading 23rd of the season with a shorthanded tally to make it 2-1. But the lead wouldn't hold. At 9:49, LW Todd Jackson snagged a loose puck at the side of the net and slipped it home for the equalizer on the power play. McKee and Murray held their ground the rest of the way and the game headed to overtime.

The two clubs managed just one shot apiece in the extra session, and it went to the shootout. Bonk scored for the Condors, while the Reign got two in a shootout that went seven rounds before deciding a winner.
