BILOXI, MS - Jeff Kyrzakos potted his first two goals in a Sea Wolves sweater, Ryan Menei added the game-winner, and Ryan Munce made 40 saves as the Mississippi Sea Wolves defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 4-2 to snap a six-game winless streak at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

Jeff Kyrzakos' first goal in a Sea Wolves' sweater gave Mississippi a 1-0 lead when he drove a wrist shot under the pads of South Carolina goaltender Ian Vigier.

South Carolina grabbed a 2-1 lead on a pair of goals just 13 seconds apart as Michael Scherer's fifth of the year at 2:59 of the second period got the Stingrays on the board, and Keith Johnson broke down the right wing and fired a wrist shot that beat Ryan Munce over the blocker at 3:12.

Mathieu Melanson's 12th goal of the season, a power-play blast from the right point, beat Vigier through traffic to draw the game even at two-apiece.

The Sea Wolves grabbed the lead back 2:46 into the third stanza when Ryan Menei ripped a wrist shot over Vigier's glove hand as he broke down the left wing.

Mark Rooneem cemented the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:16 of the third.

The Sea Wolves were 1-for-5 on the power play, and Ryan Munce made 40 saves to earn his 12th win of the season.

The next broadcast of Sea Wolves hockey is Wednesday when the Sea Wolves visit the Johnstown Chiefs at 6:05 CT, and will be heard on the B2 Networks and at www.msseawolves.com. The pre-game show presented by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will begin 15 minutes before the opening faceoff!
