Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - It took Konrad Reeder just twelve seconds into overtime to secure a 3-2 Rush victory over the Missouri Mavericks and Rapid City's fifteenth win in the last seventeen games. Danny Battochio and Robby Nolan combined for 61 saves while both Reeder and Todd Griffith posted multi-point efforts. The Rush now hold a three point lead in the Turner Conference and aim for a weekend sweep of the Mavs tomorrow at 7:05pm. Limited tickets are still available for the game.

Both sides exchanged chances through the opening 34 minutes of play, but both Battochio and Nolan were up to the task. The contest remained scoreless until Josh Beaulieu capitalized on a defensive-zone turnover by the Mavs, intercepting a pass in the slot and burying a shot to the top-right corner. Beaulieu's goal at 14:54 ended the Missouri shutout streak that lasted over 155 minutes and gave the Rush a 1-0 lead heading into the third.

The Mavericks evened the score just 39 seconds into the final period on Todd Griffith's 10th goal of the season. The Rush powerplay then went to work, regaining the lead with less than eight minutes left in regulation. A shot from the point by Scott Kalinchuk deflected off of a Maverick stick, and fluttered past screened Nolan for the 2-1 lead. The lead lasted a little more than two minutes until Derek Pallardy's stretch pass set up Griffith for his second goal of the game. Despite a 21-10 shot advantage in the third, and 39-26 overall, the Rush headed to overtime.

In the extra period, Dave Grimson slid a pass to Konrad Reeder who showcased a strong individual effort for the game-winner just twelve seconds in. The speedy forward beat a pair of Mavs defenders, weaving his way to the slot, before ripping a shot over the glove of Nolan for the 3-2 win.

Danny Battochio turned away 24 shots for his league-leading 24th save of the season while Robby Nolan dropped to 19-12-4 despite making 37 saves.
