ALLEN, Texas- In a scintillating contest, the Allen Americans defeated the Bloomington PrairieThunder tonight, 3-2 in a shootout, in front of a season-high crowd of 5,730. For Allen, it was the club's fourth straight victory.

Allen opened up the scoring 12:20 into the first frame, when Liam Huculak scored on the power play for his sixth goal of the season. After a scoreless second period, David Strathman went end-to-end early in the third with a dazzling effort which put the Americans up 2-1. Strathman, playing forward after Kip Brennan was recalled to Chicago(AHL) earlier today, went around 2 defensemen and lifted it over Emond for the marker.

Bloomington tied the score later in the period with a goal from Ryan McLeod, who lofted the puck over the shoulder of Whitley to make it 2-2.

Following an action-packed overtime period which remained scoreless, the Americans and PThunder went to a shootout which electrified the near-sellout crowd at the Allen Event Center.
