The RedHawks scored four runs in the first inning and led wire to wire in an 11-3 victory over New Orleans Tuesday, snapping a five-game losing streak.

Chad Allen went 3-for-6 with a three run homer in the first inning, while R.A. Dickey tossed 5.2 innings to get the win after a pitch-limited start by Juan Dominguez.

The RedHawks improved to 46-51 and moved 1 ½ games ahead of New Orleans for third place. The Zephyrs, who have won eight out of 10 from Oklahoma, dropped to 43-51.

Oklahoma lost two starters in the first inning. Shortstop Manny Alexander exited after straining a knee in his first at bat and catcher Gerald Laird strained his left hamstring while scoring the fourth run in the opening inning.

Dominguez, just sent down by Texas to join Oklahoma's rotation, allowed three runs on five hits in 2.2 innings including a solo home run by Kevin Orie. Dickey improved to 3-4 by allowing five singles and no walks in 5.2 innings. Michael Tejera got the final two outs on a one-pitch double play ground ball by Dee Brown to end the game.

In addition to Allen's three-hit game, the RedHawks also received three hits from Adrian Gonzalez, Keith McDonald and Jason Conti. Oklahoma out-hit New Orleans 17-10, with 14 hits coming off Zephyrs' starter Brian Powell (6-6) who took the loss.

Game three of the series is Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. CDT at Zephyr Field. Lefthanders Derek Lee and Matt White are due to start for the RedHawks and Zephyrs, respectively. The broadcast can be heard on Super Talk 930 WKY and Sportsjuice.com.
