Headlines: Dominguez starts for RedHawks; Big day for Gonzalez; RedHawks try to avoid club history

TODAY'S OPPONENT: The New Orleans Zephyrs are the Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals. They have been a member of the Pacific Coast League since 1998. They were affiliated with the Houston Astros from 1997-2004.

TODAY'S GAME: The RedHawks continue their series with New Orleans . They have lost eight of their last nine. A loss today would put the RedHawks in fourth place for the first time since April 14, put them seven games under .500 for the first time in club history and give New Orleans a season series win over the RedHawks for the first time since 2000. A win would snap the RedHawks' five-game losing streak against New Orleans and their five-game losing streak overall.

STANDINGS: The RedHawks are in third place, eight games behind Albuquerque .

LAST GAME: First baseman Adrian Gonzalez went four-for-five with a home run and three RBIs as the RedHawks lost to New Orleans, 7-5. It was the third time this season the RedHawks lost 7-5 to the Zephyrs. The top four batters in the New Orleans order combined to go 11-for-17 [.647] with four RBIs.

VS. NEW ORLEANS: The RedHawks are 1-8 against New Orleans this season. They are 32-28 all time at Zephyr Field and are 19-25 there from 2000 to present. The Zephyrs have already surpassed their win total against Oklahoma last season. The Zephyrs have won the season series from Oklahoma once, going 8-7 against the RedHawks in 2000.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Oklahoma 's Juan Dominguez makes his first RedHawk start since April 15. He will be followed by R.A. Dickey. Dickey has faced New Orleans twice, going 0-2 with an 8.59 ERA [14ER, 14.2IP]. He has 10 strikeouts and one walk against the Zephyrs. Brian Powell starts for New Orleans . He has faced Oklahoma twice and opposed Dickey both times. He is 2-0 with a 5.87 ERA against Oklahoma . He has given up seven doubles, a triple and a solo home run to Gerald Laird against the RedHawks.

STREAKERS: Relief pitcher Michael Tejera has stranded all 22 runners he has inherited this season. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez is on a five-game hitting streak dating back to July 14. He is 9-for-22 [.409] with nine RBIs during the streak.

ADRIAN GONZALEZ: First baseman Adrian Gonzalez had the team's 11th four-hit game of the year last night. He also hit a home run in his second consecutive game. He also homered in consecutive games May 30 at Memphis and May 31 at Iowa and July 3 against Iowa and July 4 at Albuquerque. The last RedHawks to homer in three straight games was Cody Ransom. Ransom homered April 10 at Memphis and April 11-12 at Nashville .

DIVISION: The RedHawks finished their season series 11-5 against division-leading Albuquerque . They are a combined 4-17 against Round Rock and New Orleans .

PITCHERS: The current RedHawk pitching staff is 15-35 with a 5.52 ERA [277ER, 451.1IP]. Pitchers no longer with the team, including W. Rodriguez, Riley and Pote, are 30-16 with a 4.71 ERA [210ER, 401.0IP].

SIX GAMES UNDER: The RedHawks are six games under .500 for the first time since since April 26, 2002 . They were also six games under .500 on April 17, 2002 and Aug. 11, 2000 . They have never been seven games under .500.

DOT-DOT-DOTS: The RedHawks are 0-6-3 in their last nine series. They last won a series June 4-7, taking three of four at home against Albuquerque ... The RedHawks tied their season high by hitting into three double plays last night.
