
RedHawks Extend Streak to Record 10 Games

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City RedHawks extended their winning streak to a club record 10 games with a 5-2 win Sunday against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox in front of 4,706 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The RedHawks (66-50) improved to 2-0 against Colorado Springs (56-57) with the win.
Outfielder Trevor Crowe, who is on a Major League rehab assignment from Houston, went 3-for-3. RedHawks third baseman Brandon Laird notched two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs.
The RedHawks, who entered the game tied for the best record in the Pacific Coast League, took the first lead.
Outfielder George Springer's single to left field scored Crowe and a two-RBI double by Laird in the third inning pushed the RedHawks to a 3-0 lead.
A sac fly by Reid Brignac scored the first run of the night for the Sky Sox in the fourth inning. Colorado Springs' Ryan Wheeler hit a solo home run to right field to cut the RedHawks lead to one run in the sixth inning.
RedHawk Rene Garcia singled to center to drive in two more Oklahoma City runs for a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
RedHawks starting pitcher Jake Buchanan (4-2) allowed two runs on eight hits over 7.0 innings to record the win. He walked one and struck out four. Colorado Springs starter Chris Volstad (5-4) allowed five runs on 10 hits, walked one and struck out three in the loss.
Oklahoma City continues a four-game series against Colorado Springs at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
