LAST NIGHT: Reno prevailed 2-0 in a 12-inning pitchers' duel...for the 1st time in team history, the Aces entered an extra innings contest with a 0-0 score...a run did not cross the plate until the top of the twelfth, when Ed Easley and Taylor Harbin scored on a ball misplayed by New Orleans shortstop Nick Green with 2 outs in the inning...Reno starter Charles Brewer was excellent, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 6 across the first 6.0 innings...4 Aces relievers combined to give up just 3 hits, while striking out 5, to keep the shutout intact...LHP Eury De La Rosa earned the win for his effort, and RHP Chaz Roe was credited with his 7th save of the season.
ACES ALL TIME: The Aces are 352-336 (.512) all-time, entering tonight's contest...Reno is 189-159 (.543) all-time at Aces Ballpark and 163-177 (.479) all-time on the road...this marks the 16th season of Triple-A baseball for the Arizona Diamondbacks organization...D-backs Triple-A affiliates are 1122-1134 (.497) all-time.
VS. NEW ORLEANS: Tonight's game marks the 17th all-time meeting between the Aces and the Zephyrs, and the 2nd meeting between the teams this season...the Aces are 11-5 (.688) all-time against the Zephyrs, including a 5-3 (.625) mark at Zephyr Field...the only season series Reno has lost to New Orleans was in 2011...Aces Ballpark and Zephyr Field are separated by 2,436 miles-marking the longest distance between downtown Reno and any other PCL ballpark.
ON THE HILL: Tonight, RHP Nate Adcock gets the nod for Reno, in search of his 1st win since 7/2...did not factor into the decision in his last start (7/29 vs. TAC), allowing 4 runs on 7 hits through 6.1 IP, while striking out 5...leads all PCL pitchers in wild pitches this season (16)...
was claimed by the D-backs off waivers from Kansas City on 6/13 and optioned to Reno...was 3-4 with a 7.09 ERA (37 ER in 47.0 IP) in 10 games (9 starts) with Omaha (AAA) to begin the season...split 2012 between MLB Kansas City and Omaha (AAA)...was 1-4 with 1 save and a 3.79 ERA (40 ER in 95.0 IP) in 36 games (5 starts) for the Royals from 2011-12... in 7 Minor League seasons, he is 35-44 with a 4.61 ERA (324 ER in 632.1 IP) in 131 games (117 starts)...selected by Seattle in the 5th round of the 2006 draft...graduate of North Hardin HS in Radcliff, Ky.
