TODAY'S GAME: After dropping the opener on Saturday, the Red Wings have battled back to win a pair of one-run games and now have the chance to win the series with a victory in the series finale on Tuesday morning (11:35 a.m.). The Wings (13-11; 3rd in IL North) have won six of their last nine games after going through a seven-game stretch over which they went just 1-6. Meanwhile, the Knights (10-15; 3rd in IL South) have dropped two straight after a season-high four-game winning streak. Charlotte, Triple-A affiliate for the White Sox, lost a season-high eight from April 14-22.

- After an off-day on Wed., the Wings will welcome Louisville (Reds) to town for a 4-game series beginning Thurs. (7:05 pm)

WITH A WIN TONIGHT, THE WINGS WILL...:

- Win a four-game series against the Knights for the first time since June 22-25, 2012 at Frontier Field.

- Win their third series of the season and second four-game series victory (LHV, April 10-13).

- Win at least 14 games in April for the third time in 18 seasons at Frontier Field and for just the 5th time since 1980.

MORE ABOUT YESTERDAY...:

- With the win, the Wings assured themselves of a winning April for the first time since 2007 and for only the 5th time in the last 18 years...Prior to 2014, Wings were just 57-81 (.413) over last six Aprils.

- The Wings shutout an opponent for the 3rd time this season and for the first time in a 9-inning game...Only SYR (4) has more shutouts than ROC in the IL...The Wings turned in 10 shutouts last season, three coming in 1-0 fashion.

- The Wings allowed a tied for season-low 3 hits in a 9-inning game, while collecting a season-low 4 hits themselves.

STILL STREAKIN': Red Wings INF/OF Chris Parmelee picked up the only RBI on Monday as his run-scoring double in the 3rd inning turned out to be the game-winner and also extended his hit streak to 13 games -- which is the longest active streak in the IL and tied for the longest overall streak in the league this season (Roberto Perez, COL). It's the longest hitting streak by a Red Wing since Chris Colabello's 16-game streak last season and Parmelee's longest since a 15-gamer with Rochester back in 2012. Over the streak, he's batting .412 (21-for-51) with a .474 OBP, 3 homers, 4 doubles and 10 RBI. Over the recent 8-game road trip, the Wings slugger went 15-for-32 (.469) with 2 HR, 3 2B & 7 RBI. Prior to the streak, Parmelee started the season just 9-for-41 (.220) over first 11 games.

- Parmelee's streak has included a tied for career-high 4-hit game (4/20 @ SYR) and his first career walk-off HR (4/27 vs. CHA).

K-MEN: After 12 more strikeouts from Wings pitchers on Monday, Rochester has now struck out at least 9 batters in 7 straight games (79 total in 62.0 IP). The Red Wings now rank 2nd in the IL with 207 strikeouts on the season -- 68 K's behind first-place Durham (275). Prior to this seven-game streak of strikeouts, the Wings ranked 10th in the IL with 128 punch outs.

MAGNIFICENT MEYER, PART 2 : Twins top pitching prospect Alex Meyer became the first Wings pitcher to turn in back-to-back, double-digit strikeout performances since LHP Francisco Liriano in 2005 (10 on 7/24/05 & 13 on 8/4/05) with his 11 punch outs on Monday. Meyer, who now leads the IL with 35 SO, has struck out a tied for career-high 11 in consecutive starts and now has four double-digit strikeout performances over his 46 career pro starts. Over his last two starts, Meyer has thrown 12 2/3 scoreless innings allowing just five hits and six walks with 22 strikeouts. The former first rounder in 2011 out of the University of Kentucky has struck out 35 in 26 2/3 IP in '14 while limiting opposing hitters to a .207 (19-for-92) BAA.

- Meyer picked up his first career Triple-A win on Monday (6.0 ip, 2 h, 0 r, 3 bb, 11 k).

- Meyer's 11 K's on 4/23 @ PAW were the most in a game for a Wings pitcher since Chris Province struck out 12 on 9/3/10 vs. SYR.

FOR STARTERS: The Red Wings will send LHP Kris Johnson to the hill in the series finale on Tuesday as he looks to put together back-to-back wins for the first time this season. In Johnson's two wins this season, he's allowed just one unearned run on five hits in 11.0 innings and in his two losses he's yielded 7 ER (5.73 ERA) on 13 hits in 11.0 innings. Johnson is 1-2, 3.98 ERA (9 ER/20,1 IP) over 5 career games (4 GS) against the Knights. Last season with Indianapolis, Johnson tossed 6.0 shutout innings allowing only two hits vs. Charlotte.

- Knights scheduled starter RHP Deunte Heath has thrown 9.0 straight scoreless innings against Rochester in 4 games (1 GS) over the last two seasons. However in his previous two appearances (both starts) vs. the Wings he allowed 11 runs over 8.1 innings. One of those starts came with CHA in '11 and the other with GWN in '09 -- both starts were made at Frontier Field.

MORE HOT WINGS: INF Doug Bernier, has picked up a hit in 14 of his 15 starts this season, and now ranks 4th in the IL with a .357 average...OF Chris Rahl has a hit in 16 of his last 18 games (including a current 8-game streak) batting .302 (19-for-63) with a home run, 5 doubles and 9 RBI...CF Eric Farris, who has a team-leading 10 multi-hit games this season, ranks 10th in the league with a .329 average...LHP Matt Hoffman has allowed just one run in 9.1 IP (0.96 ERA).
