Red Claws To Honor Crustacean Nation

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, will salute Red Claws fans with Fan Appreciation Night tomorrow night as the team takes on the Erie BayHawks in the final regular season game of the team's inaugural season. The Red Claws have sold out all 24 games and are the first team to sell out an entire season in the NBA Development League.

Boston Celtics great Tommy Heinsohn will be on hand for a special pregame presentation to Crustacean Nation. The presentation will begin approximately ten minutes before the 7:30 PM scheduled tip-off. All fans in attendance will also receive a special Red Claws team poster and will be invited to remain in the arena following the game to meet the Red Claws players who will be available for a team autograph session on the court.

"We have the greatest fans in the league, and we appreciate their overwhelming support," said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. "We will be retiring the number 1 in tribute to our fans. To have sold out every single game in our inaugural season is not something we could have ever imagined."

FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME TO BE BROADCAST NATIONALLY ON VERSUS: The Red Claws-Erie game will be the tenth NBA D-League game to be broadcast this season on nationally on VERSUS. Miles Simon will be joined in the booth by play-by-play announcer Andrew Monaco. Monaco is currently the TV and radio announcer for the WNBA's San Antonio Silver Stars, the play-by-play announcer for select San Antonio Spurs telecasts, and has served as host, play-by-play voice and sideline reporter for the NBA's Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. Simon, a former NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and NBA player, currently serves as an analyst for Pac-10 men's basketball on FSN. The tape delayed broadcast will begin at 11 PM EDT.
