Erie Closes Home Schedule with Win

Erie, Pennsylvania, Friday, April 2 - On a day that Erie saw record temperatures for early April, Blake Ahearn was scorching hot dropping in 31 points and adding 11 assists to lead the BayHawks over the Springfield Armor by a score of 107-90 in front 3,497 fans at the Tullio Arena.

Erie went wire-to-wire in their final home game of the season. John Bryant scored 10 first quarter points as the BayHawks led by three after the first frame. The lead grew to 8 points at halftime as Mike Gansey paced Erie with 7 second quarter points.

Ahearn had his biggest quarter of the night in the third as he buried three 3-point baskets en route to an 11-point quarter. He added two more from long range in the fourth quarter as Erie took its largest lead of the game at 19 points with less than one minute to play.

Along with Ahearn, Erie also got double -doubles from Gansey who tallied 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Bryant who contributed 15 points and 10 boards as Erie improved to 20-29.

Springfield was lead by Abdulai Jalloh who dropped in a game-high 35 points as the Armor closed out their inaugural season at 7-43.

The BayHawks play their final game of the season Saturday night as they travel to Portland, Maine to take on the Red Claws at 7:30 p.m. ET. Erie fans can catch the game on tape-delay on the Versus Network at 11 p.m. ET.
