T-Birds Lose to Reno Despite Seven Players Scoring in Double Figures

RENO, NV - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds came up short on Firday night in Reno, losing to the Bighorns 134-112. Jason Horton notched career highs in points and assists for Albuquerque, with 16 points and 17 assists in the loss.

Shane Edwards led seven Albuquerque players in double figures with 22 points. Chad Toppert scored 18 for the T-Birds, connecting on 5 of 7 three point field goal attempts.

The Bighorns jumped out to a 38-27 lead at the end of the first quarter and never trailed. Albuquerque has now lost nine consecutive games.

Antoine Agudio scored 17 and Keith McLeod added 15 for Albuquerque. Sasha Cuic recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Desmon Farmer led all scorers with 31 points for the Bighorns. Rod Benson added 17 points and a game high 12 rebounds for Reno.

Albuquerque shot 48.9% from the field for the game, including 10-19 from three point range. Reno connected on 52.2%.

Albuquerque will close out the season tomorrow night when the team once again takes on the Bighorns in Reno. The game will begin at 8 pm and will be broadcast on 1050 KTBL.
