Cincinnati Cyclones News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Cincinnati Cyclones (7-5-0-0) collected a 3-0 win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday Night. Forwards Kenny Ryan, Nick Huard, and Andrew Yogan scored the goals for the Cyclones, while goaltender Michael Houser pitched the 23-save shutout.

Cincinnati drew first blood 6:23 into the first period when Ryan took a feed from Yogan in the neutral zone and skated over the right wing blue line and snapped a shot past Kalamazoo netminder Nic Riopel to put the Cyclones ahead, 1-0.

That 1-0 lead held up throughout the remainder of the first period, and in the second, both teams got a myriad of offensive chances, including several on the power play. Both netminders were charged with making some tough saves, and Cincinnati ultimately took their 1-0 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes.

The Cyclones wasted little time in the third getting that all-important insurance goal, as just 1:32 into the final frame, Huard took a loose puck in front of the net and jammed it between the legs of Riopel to put Cincinnati up 2-0.

Cincinnati capped off the big night with under a minute left when Yogan buried an empty netter from the left goal line to send the Cyclones to a 3-0 win.

Houser was perfect in net, stopping all 23 shots to collect his first shutout of the season. The Cyclones head back home on Saturday night to take on the Toledo Walleye. Face-off is slated for 7:35pm ET.
