INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Tonight the Missouri Mavericks host Western Conference foe Fort Wayne in the first of back-to-back games this weekend at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. This is the first visit by the Komets since January of 2012, and just the 11th all-time meeting between the Mavericks and Komets.

CHECKING THE RIVALRY
The Mavericks are facing the Komets tonight for the first of three meetings this season and the first of two to be played at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. Missouri has a 1-3-1 all-time ECHL record against Fort Wayne, with each of the prior five meetings coming at Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. Missouri's most recent home game against Fort Wayne came on January 15, 2012 and the Mavericks claimed a 4-3 overtime win that night. Dating back to the 2010-11 season the Mavericks have won five of their 10 all-time meetings with Fort Wayne. The Komets are in the midst of a stretch of four games in five days, while Missouri has been off since last Saturday.
FIRE AT WILL
The Mavericks enter play tonight sixth in the league in shots on goal with 324 and average 36 shots per game. Missouri has been most active in the second period with 121 shots on goal, which rank fifth in the league. As a team the Mavericks are scoring on eight percent of their shots. Dane Fox leads the current group of Mavericks with 30 shots on goal. He is one of five current Mavs who have 20 or more shots on goal and 13 of the current skaters have double-digit shots on goal.
