DAVENPORT, IA -- Wisconsin Timber Rattler starting pitcher Harold Williams allowed two hits over a career high six innings for a win as the Rattlers edged the Swing of the Quad Cities 2-1 in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday night at John O'Donnell Stadium. Joe Woerman extended his personal scoreless streak to nineteen innings with a scoreless seventh inning for his seventh save of the season.

The Swing (30-34) got out in front in the first inning with an RBI single by Colby Rasmus. But, that was it for their scoring.

Wisconsin (27-39) rallied for two runs in the top of the third inning. An RBI single by Ron Garth drove in the tying run. Casey Craig scored from third on the seventeenth wild pitch of the season by Swing starting pitcher Adam Daniels and the Rattlers had a 2-1 lead.

Daniels pitched well. He struck out a career high ten batters and allowed only two unearned runs, but Williams was better.

Williams did have to get out of jam in the bottom of the fourth inning. Jose Martinez doubled with one out. Williams walked Luis Cotto and hit Simon Williams to load the bases. The Rattler lefty got Daniel Nelson to fly out to right to end the threat.

Williams would retire the final seven batters that he faced before he turned things over to Rattler closer Joe Woerman. Williams allowed two hits, walked four, and hit two batters, while striking out three for the win.

Woerman struck out one and worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh to close out the Swing.
