Rascals Collect Walk off Win against Grizzlies

O'FALLON, MO - Kyle Jones drove in two runs with the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth inning to give the River City Rascals a 7-6 walk-off win over the Gateway Grizzlies at T.R. Hughes Ballpark Wednesday night.

Gateway (16-15) took a 6-5 lead into the ninth inning after rallying from a 5-2 deficit with a run in the seventh and three in the eighth. After getting the first two batters out in the ninth, Grizzlies closer Richard Barrett (0-2) hit Charlie Lisk to put the game tying run on base. Jeremy Synan reached on an error and the Grizzlies loaded the bases by intentionally walking Jason Patton. Jones hit a single to center to score two runs on a full count pitch with two outs to give River City (18-13) the win.

Chris Enourato got the start for the Grizzlies and gave up four runs on six hits in four and two thirds innings. Enourato struck out one and walked three.

Jonathan Johnson, Antone DeJesus and Jerod Yakubik had multi-hit games for Gateway. It was the third straight game with at least two hits for DeJesus. Yakubik paced the Grizzlies with two RBI.

The Grizzlies continue their three-game road series with the River City Rascals on Thursday night. Right-hander Tim Brown (3-2, who enters with a 1.81 ERA, makes the start for the Grizzlies. First pitch is set for 7:05 CT.
