Rangers Recall RHP Nick Martinez, LHP Michael Roth Active for Express

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Right-handed pitcher Nick Martinez has been recalled to the Texas Rangers, the club announced Saturday. To make room for him on the active roster, LHP Andrew Faulkner has been optioned to Round Rock. He will not be active for tonight's game against Iowa. Additionally, LHP Michael Roth has been activated off the disabled list.

Martinez was 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA (10.2ip/4er) in two starts with the Express this season. He struck out two batters in each start while only allowing a combined two walks. The Miami native split the 2015 season between Round Rock and Arlington, going a combined 8-8 with a 3.75 ERA (156.0ip/65er). He made six starts for the Express and 24 appearances (21 starts) for the Rangers.

Faulkner has made five appearances for the Rangers this season, allowing four earned runs in 4.1 innings of work (8.31 ERA) while striking out one and allowing three walks. The lefty made six appearances with the Express last season, not allowing a single run and only two hits in 8.0 innings.

Roth has made one appearance for the Express this season before going on the DL back on April 7.

With these moves, the Express have 25 active and one on the DL.
