The Express made the following roster moves prior to tonight's game:
DELETE: RHP Nick Martinez (to Texas - ML)
ACTIVATE: LHP Michael Roth (from DL)
Additionally, LHP Andrew Faulkner was optioned to Round Rock but will not be active for tonight's game.
FIRST PITCH:
Christopher Suprun, a twenty-plus year veteran of public safety, who served during the September 11 attacks, Hurricane Katrina, and the Berrendo Middle School shooting with throw out the ceremonial first pitch tonight. He has been published more than fifty times in peer reviewed journals and helped found the Never Forget Foundation, a 501c3 that works with at-risk youth to overcome adversity and challenge using lessons from September 11. He has been invited into the boardroom of Fortune 100 companies and into the locker rooms of professional sports franchises to talk about being successful and finishing the season based on his experience across the country as a responder.
HOMETOWN HESTER:
Following the conclusion of the 4th inning, the Express will honor Round Rock businessman Gail "Big Boy" Hester. He's celebrating 55 years of business at Hester's Auto and Body, a Round Rock institution. Hester will be recognized on the field and presented with a framed personalized Express jersey, signed by Nolan Ryan.
"LC ROCKS" ROCKS DELL DIAMOND:
Following the game, LC Rocks, an 80s rock cover band, will be performing live at Dell Diamond after the game to kick off the St. David's Summer Concert Series presented by Dell. A ticket for the game will also get fans into the concert on the field following the game.
