ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Tacoma Rainiers (6-2) dropped an 11-6 decision to the Albuquerque Isotopes (5-4) on Friday night at Isotopes Ballpark, ending the club's four-game winning streak.

Rainiers starting pitcher James Paxton surrendered seven runs, six earned, on six hits across 2.1 innings of work with four walks and two strikeouts. He took his second loss of the season.

Zunino opened the top of the second inning with a leadoff double and came around to score two batters later on an RBI groundout by Daniel Robertson, giving Tacoma an early 1-0 advantage.

Three hits and two walks, combined with a fielding error by Tacoma shortstop Chris Taylor, gave the Isotopes three runs and a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second.

The Rainiers answered with a solo run in the top of the third on an RBI triple from Romero, but a grand slam from Albuquerque's Tim Smalling in the bottom of the frame extended the Isotopes lead to 7-2.

A leadoff home run from Zunino in the top of the fourth and a sacrifice fly from Dario Pizzano helped the Rainiers cut into the Isotopes lead at 7-4.

The Isotopes would go on to out-score the Rainiers 4-2 over the final handful of frames, creating to final margin of 11-6.

Tacoma and Albuquerque square off for game two of the four-game set tomorrow, Saturday, April 16. Rainiers right-hander Adrian Sampson (1-0, 0.00) will square off against Isotopes righty Ryan Carpenter (0-1, 7.20). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PT.
