Jefry Marte delivered a run scoring infield single in the top of the tenth inning to give the Salt Lake Bees a 4-3 win over the Sacramento River Cats on Friday night. Quintin Berry led off the tenth with a single to left and was sacrificed to second by Shane Robinson. Berry moved to third on a fly out to right field by Todd Cunningham and scored when Marte beat out a ground ball to the shortstop. Sacramento threatened in the bottom of the tenth, as Darren Ford doubled off of the foot of Bees' pitcher Javy Guerra and advanced to third on a ground out. Guerra struck out Gorkys Hernandez for the second out and then faced Ramiro Pena. During the at bat, Guerra delivered a pitch behind Pena to the screen, but Ford held his ground at third base. Guerra struck out Pena on a 3-2 pitch to the end the game.

His first home run in the fourth inning tied the game at 2-2 and Buss' second came in the sixth to give Salt Lake a 3-2 lead. Former Bee Conor Gillaspie tied the game for Sacramento with a bases empty home run in the bottom of the sixth. Guerra (1-0) worked two and two-third scoreless inning to earn the win, as the Bees are 5-0 versus the River Cats this season.
