Rampage Sign Tyler Barnes, Connor Brickley to ATOs

SAN ANTONIO (April 1, 2014) - Florida Panthers Executive Vice President and General Manager Dale Tallon announced Tuesday that the San Antonio Rampage have signed forwards Tyler Barnes and Connor Brickley to Amateur Try Out contracts.

Barnes wrapped up his college career with Wisconsin, winning the inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament before being eliminated from the NCAA Tournament with a 5-2 loss to North Dakota on Friday. He finished his college career with 45 goals and 56 assists for the Badgers. The 6-0, 190-pound Eagan, Minn. native ranked fourth on the team with 28 points (14G, 14A) this season. Prior to attending Wisconsin, Barnes, 24, played three seasons with the Waterloo Black Hawks (USHL), tallying 45 goals and 51 assists in 116 games.

Connor Brickley, 22, tallied five goals and 10 assists for Vermont this season, finishing his career with 21 goals and 27 assists in 117 games. The Catamounts were ousted from the NCAA Tournament by third-seeded Union, losing 5-2 on Friday. Brickley was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the second round (50th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-1, 195-pound Everett, Mass. native played the 2009-10 season with the Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL), notching 43 points (22G, 21A) in 52 games.
