SJ Sharks Reassign D Mirco Mueller to Worcester

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned defenseman Mirco Mueller (@25mueller) to the Worcester Sharks (AHL).

Mueller posted 27 points (5-2227), a plus-1 rating, and 31 penalty minutes in 60 games with the Everett Silvertips (WHL) during the 2013-14 regular season, finishing 2nd amongst team defensemen in assists (22) and points (27). In the postseason, Mueller registered two points (1-12) in five contests. He was the recipient of the 2013-14 Silvertips Unsung Hero Award, given to the "biggest contributor outside of statistics and accolades."

In 2012-13 he was named Everett's Rookie of the Year after posting 31 points (6-2531) in 63 games, second-most among all WHL rookie defensemen.

Mueller has also been an active participant on the international stage, representing his home country of Switzerland at the 2013 IIHF World U-18 Hockey Championship as well as the 2013 World Juniors and 2014 World Juniors.

The six-foot-three, 195-pound native of Winterthur, Switzerland was drafted by San Jose in the first round (18th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
