Rampage sign pair of defensemen

SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 22, 2005) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that they have signed defensemen Adam Rivet and Steve Weidlich to a Professional Tryout Offer (PTO).

Rivet, 25, has appeared in 26 games with the Laredo Bucks-the Rampage's affiliate of the Central Hockey League. The 6-foot, 185-pound blueliner has scored six goals and eight assists for 14 points while registering a plus-nine rating for the Bucks.

The 24-year-old Weidlich has registered five goals and two assists for seven points in 26 games with Laredo. He also has a plus-seven rating.

The Rampage's parent club, the Phoenix Coyotes, recalled right wing Tim Jackman late yesterday. In 27 games this season with the Rampage, Jackman has recorded 2-5-7 and a team-leading 81 penalty minutes (PIM). The 24-year-old has played in 19 NHL games in his career, all with Columbus in 2003-04 when he registered 1-2-3 and 16 PIM while averaging 9:56 of ice time per game in five different stints with the Blue Jackets. Jackman, who was originally drafted by Columbus (2nd round, 38th overall pick) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, was acquired by Phoenix on Oct. 8.
