December 22, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hamilton Bulldogs News Release
Hamilton, Ontario (RCGA) -The Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club and officials for the 2006 Bell Canadian Open are pleased to announce agreement on an official marketing partnership. The partnership includes cross-promotional ticketing and on-site advertising initiatives that will debut this month and run throughout next September's Bell Canadian Open.
"The Bulldogs are thrilled to be partnering with the RCGA," stated Brian Lewis, the Bulldogs' Executive Director of Operations. "We are confident this partnership will be beneficial not only to the Bulldogs and the RCGA, but also to the public as it will provide additional outlets for people to become familiar with both organizations."
Today's announcement builds early momentum for Canada's only PGA Tour event which returns next summer to the venerable Hamilton Golf and Country Club. In 2003 PGA Tour veteran Bob Tway edged fellow American Brad Faxon in a playoff (third extra hole) to claim his first career Canadian Open title.
"This unifies two premier sports entertainment properties and we are excited to be partnering with the Bulldogs," said Craig Sharp, Managing Director, Sales, Marketing and Communications for the Royal Canadian Golf Association. "The 2003 Bell Canadian Open in Hamilton was one of our most successful tournaments ever. What a dynamic way to send an early message to the community about 2006," added Sharp.
