Stars Sign Blueliner to PTO Contract

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Des Moines-based team has signed defenseman Tim Hambly to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO).

A native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Hambly joins the Stars after appearing in 26 games for the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers this season. In those games, he has notched seven goals, eight assists and a ‘plus 14' rating: 26(7/8/15)+14. Prior to Las Vegas, the 6-0, 190-pound defenseman skated four seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2001-2005. The 22 year old had 13 goals, 60 points in 141 games: 141(13/47/60).

Hambly was a member of the Waterloo Blackhawks (USHL) in 2000-01.

NEXT GAME: The Iowa Stars host Milwaukee on Friday, December 23rd at 7:05 PM at Wells Fargo Arena. The first 3,000 fans 'through the turnstiles' receive an Inaugural Season Holiday Ornament. Friday from 6-7 PM is also the new Budweiser Happy Hour in the Bud Zone at Wells Fargo Arena. Doors open for all games one-hour before face-off.
