Phantoms Announce All-Decade Team

PHILADELPHIA - As part of the Philadelphia Phantoms continuing 10th Anniversary celebration, the organization today announced the members of the Phantoms All-Decade Team. The team was assembled after a summer-long online campaign at phantomshockey.com, where fans were encouraged to vote for the finest players in Phantoms history.

The roster, which reveres the accomplishments of players from the previous nine seasons and some currently contributing both on and off the ice, is divided into a First and Second Team. In all, 12 players were selected, including four defensemen, six forwards and two goaltenders. The goaltender, two defensemen and the three forwards that received the most votes were given First Team honors.

The Phantoms First Team selections were goaltender Neil Little, defensemen John Slaney and John Stevens, along with right wing Mark Greig, left wing Frank Bialowas and center Patrick Sharp.

The Second Team selections included Antero Niittymaki in goal and defensemen Freddy Meyer and Dennis Seidenberg. Peter White was named center, flanked by right wing Kirby Law and left wing Mike Maneluk.

To commemorate the All-Decade Team, the Phantoms will be giving away a limited edition All-Decade Team card set free at their game on Fri., Jan. 6 at 7:05 pm. Collector's edition 8 ½ x 11 lineup cards have also been created and will be available at Phantoms home games beginning in January. Phantomshockey.com will feature a slew of All-Decade components, including current audio comments, stories and photos of All-Decade Team members.
