Columbus Reassigns Delmore and Goertzen

Syracuse, NY (December 22, 2005) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Andy Delmore and right wing Steven Goertzen to the Crunch.

Delmore, 28, has appeared in three games with Columbus without recording a point. In 21 games with Syracuse this season, Delmore recorded 4 goals, 19 assists and 26 penalty minutes. In 278 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Nashville, Buffalo and Columbus, Delmore has tallied 43 goals, 58 assists and 103 penalty minutes. A native of LaSalle, Ontario, Delmore was claimed off waivers by Columbus from Detroit, October 4, 2005.

Goertzen, 21, has appeared in 24 games with Columbus this season registering 24 penalty minutes. In eight games with Syracuse this season, Goertzen has scored 1 goal, 1 assist and 11 penalty minutes. A native of Stony Plain, Alberta, Goertzen was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 225th overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft.

The Crunch travel to Rochester on Thursday, December 22 for a 7:05 p.m. contest. On Friday, December 23, Syracuse hosts Albany for a 7:30 p.m. match-up.
