
Rampage Sign Kinnunen To PTO

SAN ANTONIO (January 17, 2009) - San Antonio Rampage General Manager Brad Treliving announced today that they have signed defenseman Justin Kinnunen to a professional tryout offer (PTO).
Kinnunen joins the Rampage from the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) where he has played in 31 games recording nine goals and 14 assists. He ranks fourth on the team in points with 23 and has the top plus-minus ranking with a plus-12.
Kinnunen, a native of Negaunee, Michigan, tallied two goals and seven assists through 14 games in the playoffs last year for Texas. During the 2007-08 regular season he posted 11 goals and 32 assists in 64 games.
Prior to joining the Brahmas, Kinnunen split the 2006-07 season with the Muskegon Fury and the Flint Generals of the United Hockey League (UHL), now the International Hockey League (IHL), and totaled 21 points (5 goals, 16 assists) between the two teams.
The 27-year-old Kinnunen spent 13 games in France with Briancon totaling seven points in the 2005-06 season. In 2004-05 he tallied nine goals and 20 assists with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL.
Kinnunen netted 14 goals and 24 assists through 148 career NCAA games at Northern Michigan University (2000-04). At the end of his senior year he joined the Bombers for five games collecting two goals and three assists.
