Columbus Assigns Dan LaCosta and Reassigns Petr Pohl

Syracuse, NY (January 17, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Dan LaCosta to the Crunch. In addition, Columubs reassigned right wing Peter Pohl from Syracuse to Johnstown (ECHL).

LaCosta, 22, has appeared in 28 games for the Crunch this season, going 12-11-2 with a 2.72 goals against average and .914 save percentage. He has also skated in one game with Columbus this year, playing 35 minutes in relief of Fredrik Norrena on October 18 in Nashville, allowing two goals on 19 shots.

A native of Labrador City, Newfoundland, LaCosta was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 93rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Pohl, 22, has appeared in six games with the Crunch this season, posting one goal and two assists. He has also skated in 28 games with Johnstown (ECHL) this year, notching 12 goals, 18 assists and six penalty minutes.

A native of Prostejov, Czech Republic, Pohl was drafted by Columbus in the fifth round, 133rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
