Albany Devils News Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Carl Corazzini notched two goals and Devan Dubnyk made 22 saves as the Springfield Falcons blanked the Lowell Devils, 3-0, on Saturday at the MassMutual Center. After a scoreless opening frame, Corazzini found the net twice in the first four minutes of the second to help Springfield to take control of the game. The first marker came just 1:10 in the period as Shane Willis fired a centering pass from the bottom of the near circle that banked off the skate of Corazzini and past Jeff Frazee.

Corazinni lit the lamp again only 2:48 later, skating down the left wing and sending an off-hand wrist shot inside the right post.

The Falcons went up, 3-0, at the end of the second thanks to their third shorthanded goal of the season. After the Devils' power play unit surrendered the puck at the Springfield blueline, Derek Bekar took off the other way and eluded a Frazee poke check before dumping in a backhander at 15:59.

Frazee's five-game winning streak came to an end, as he finished the game with 35 saves on 38 shots. Lowell was 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.

The Devils host a matinee on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as they face the Springfield Falcons on Monday, January 19 at 2:00pm. Listen to game live on ahllive.com.
