San Antonio Rampage News Release

PROVIDENCE - For the second night in a row, the San Antonio Rampage fell behind 4-0 as they dropped a 6-2 decision to the Providence Bruins Saturday night at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

Providence, known as a quick team, scored goals in rapid bunches to take an insurmountable four-goal lead before the Rampage could get on the board.

Providence scored twice in a span of less than a minute in each of the first two periods.

Right wing Jeff Hoggan and left wing Pascal Pelletier lit the lamp 53 seconds apart late in the first period to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.

Left wing Aaron Slattengren and right wing Byron Bitz scored in a span of 23 seconds to push the lead to 4-0.

David Spina finally broke through for the Rampage at 13:36 of the second period. A goal from leading-scorer Matt Murley halfway through the final period trimmed the lead to 4-2, as the Rampage threatened.

Providence put the finishing touches on the win, scoring two goals within a 1:49 span for the 6-2 win. Left wing Jeff LoVecchio and defenseman Sean Curry were responsible for the markers. Providence scored two goals in each period.

The Rampage finish a string of three games in as many days at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon against the Springfield Falcons.
