San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO (November 18, 2008) - The San Antonio Rampage gave the AHL's top team all they could handle, but the Bridgeport Sound Tigers pulled off a 3-1 win Tuesday night at the AT&T Center to extend the franchise high winless streak to ten (0-9-0-1).

After going eight games and 44 opportunities between power-play goals, the Rampage only needed two chances when forward Derek Nesbitt's redirect of Enver Lisin's one-timer just 1:42 into second gave San Antonio a power-play goal and 1-0 lead.

San Antonio got stellar play in the net from goalie Josh Tordjman, but twice in the third mad scrambles in front of the net led to the Rampage's undoing. First, Bridgeport knotted it up at one apiece just 2:18 into the third when Sound Tigers' center Ben Walters poked in the loose puck after back-to-back saves. Later, Bridgeport would take the lead when center Trevor Smith scored an improbable goal while being laid out on the ice to make it 2-1 with just 2:15 to play.

Sound Tigers center Mike Iggulden tacked on an empty netter in the waning seconds for the final score of 3-1.

Tordjman saved 23 of 25 to take the loss and the Rampage were perfect on the penalty kill, 4 for 4. San Antonio went 1 for 5 on the power play creating numerous good looks, but Bridgeport's Nathan Lawson was solid between the pipes saving 28 of 29 shots.

Lisin's assist marked his third straight game registering a point. The Rampage are now 2-13-0-1 on the season.
