Wolves Skaters Turn Waiters

November 18, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves will host their 11th annual "Get Fed by the Wolves" lunch at Cheeseburger in Paradise, 1472 Market St., in Des Plaines on Sun., Nov. 23, from 2 to 5 p.m.

Wolves players will step off the ice and into the kitchen to serve as waiters for the sold out, afternoon event. Proceeds from the luncheon will benefit several organizations, including the Tim Breslin Scholarship Opportunities, First Step Foundation, Interfaith Council for the Homeless and other Chicago-area charities.

"This is one of our most popular events," said Wolves Vice President of Operations Courtney Mahoney. "It is a great way for our fans to interact with our players and get to know them on a personal level. More importantly, it is a great way to honor the memory of Tim Breslin and raise money for local charities."

Breslin was one of the first three players signed by the franchise and played five years with the Wolves (1994-1999), which includes capturing the Turner Cup as a member of the 1998 Championship squad. He passed away on Feb. 9, 2005 due to complications from appendiceal cancer.

In addition to lunch, Wolves game worn jerseys, sticks and other Calder Cup Championship memorabilia will be raffled and auctioned. Each player will wear a "Get Fed by the Wolves" T-shirt, which will be autographed and auctioned at the event.
