HOUSTON (December 9, 2011) - The Rampage outshot the Aeros 33-26 but were held scoreless in a 1-0 loss to Houston Friday night at Toyota Center.

The Aeros snapped the Rampage's five-game penalty kill streak with a power-play goal by Justin Fountaine at the 8:29 mark of the second period. Jeff Penner picked up the assist on the play with a cross-ice pass from the blue line in front of the Aeros bench to Fountaine at the right circle. Fountaine then fired a snapshot to beat San Antonio netminder Jacob Markstrom under his left arm to give the Aeros a 1-0 advantage and the eventual game-winner.

Houston goalie Darcy Kuemper stopped all 33 Rampage shots for his first professional shutout while Markstrom turned aside 25 of 26 Aeros shots.

The Rampage (10-14-0-0) return to the AT&T Center with a matchup against Peoria at 7 p.m. on Saturday and Charlotte at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday to complete a three-in-three series. Saturday's game features the Rampage's 8th annual Salute to the Badges Night in which the team will honor local fire fighters and law enforcement officials by wearing themed jerseys to benefit The Little Fighter Foundation.
