San Antonio Rampage News Release
DES MOINES, IA- The San Antonio Rampage (11-11-1-0) earned their first shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over the Iowa Wild (10-13-1-1) Friday evening at Wells Fargo Arena.
Spencer Martin finished the night stopping all 27 Iowa shots on goal to earn his first shutout of the season and First Star of the Game. He now leads league netminders in wins this season tallying an 11-6-0-0 record. Rocco Grimaldi netted the game's lone goal, his second game-winner of the season, to earn the Third Star of the Game.
After a scoreless first period, San Antonio lit the lamp in the second frame when Grimaldi deflected an Iowa pass into the net under the pads of Wild netminder Steve Michalek at the 4:53 mark, beginning his sixth point streak of the season.
Despite being outshot 10-1 in the third frame and a late opportunity with the man advantage, the Wild were unable to push the puck past Martin as the Rampage solidified its tenth consecutive victory over Iowa.
