Tampa Bay Lightning Reassign Slater Koekkoek to Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman Slater Koekkoek to the Syracuse Crunch, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Koekkoek, 22, has appeared in 17 games with the Lightning this season, posting four assists and a plus-2 rating to go along with six penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman recorded a pair of assists in his season debut on November 1 at the New York Islanders. In 29 career NHL games, all with the Lightning over the past two seasons, Koekkoek has registered five assists. The Mountain, Ontario native has also skated in five games with the Crunch this season, notching a pair of helpers.

Koekkoek was originally selected by the Lightning in the first round, 10th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
