Condors $5 Frenzy Knit Cap Night is Tonight

Charlotte Checkers back in town for 7 p.m. start

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (8-8-2-0) host the Charlotte Checkers (9-12-1-0) on Dignity Health Home Ice at Rabobank Arena, tonight at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. and at 5:45 p.m. for season ticket members. Bakersfield is 3-0-1 in their last four home games.

PROMOTION: $5 Frenzy - Knit Caps pres. by KNZR 1560 AM/97.7 FM. Fans have the opportunity to purchase up to two (2) Condors Knit Caps for just $5 apiece at the game.

TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors host the Charlotte Checkers for the second time in seven days. Bakersfield won the lone matchup between the two teams, 3-0, last Friday, Dec. 1. It is game two of the four-game season series with two contests in Charlotte in March.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Bakersfield extended their point streak to four games (2-0-2) in a 4-3 overtime loss at San Diego on Tuesday. C Josh Currie scored the go-ahead goal early in the third, but the Gulls tied it up in the final minute and won on a deflection in overtime. D Ben Betker and RW Greg Chase each scored their first goals of the season.

Charlotte fell to 0-4 on a six-game California swing on Wednesday in a 3-1 loss to the Stockton Heat. LW Sergey Tolchinsky scored the lone goal for the Checkers. G Alex Nedeljkovic took the loss with 12 saves on 15 shots.

BROSSOIT STRINGING STARTS TOGETHER

G Laurent Brossoit is 3-1-1-0 in his last five starts. He has started the last three games for Bakersfield including recording back-to-back shutouts last weekend on home ice. Over those three games, his goals-against average is 1.31 and his save percentage is .944 (68/72). He has started eight of the last nine games for the Condors since Nov. 12.

CONDORS NOTES

Bakersfield is 3-0-1 in their last four home games... RW Taylor Beck has the most points in the AHL since Nov. 1. In 12 games, he has 20 points (7g-13a) and is +6... C Jujhar Khaira is on a three-game point streak (1g-2a)... The Condors have a power-play goal in three of their last four games (3/12)... Defensively, the Condors have held teams under 30 shots in each of their last three games and in six of their last eight contests... On the penalty kill, the Condors have killed off 38 of their last 41 power plays. The team is third in the AHL on the penalty kill at 87.1%.

Charlotte is 3-10-1-0 on the road this season... D Keegan Lowe is the son of Edmonton Oilers Vice-Chair Kevin Lowe and is a former teammate of current Condors G Laurent Brossoit, RW Mitch Moroz, and Griffin Reinhart with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL)... C Andrew Poturalski is t-11th in the rookie scoring race with 14 points (5g-9a).
