FISHKILL, NY-- Minor League Baseball announced that Hudson Valley's Roel Ramirez was named the New York-Penn League Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 3-9.

Ramirez faced the Tri-City Valley Cats at Dutchess Stadium on Tuesday, August 4th as the right-hander from Laredo, Texas tossed six shutout innings in the start while striking out five batters and scattered just two hits. After his stellar performance against Tri-City, Ramirez was selected this past weekend to represent the Renegades at the 2015 New York-Penn League All-Star Game and will play for the North Team.

In nine starts this season, Ramirez holds a 3-2 record with a 3.08 ERA for Hudson Valley. He currently ranks tenth in the New York-Penn League in ERA and has only allowed 10 walks in 49 and two-thirds innings pitched.

Great seats are still available for Hudson Valley's next home game on Saturday, August 15th as the Renegades host Brooklyn at 7:05pm with a fireworks show to follow the game. For tickets, call 845-838-0094 or go to www.hvrenegades.com.
