Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - Three home runs from the River Cats and a late seventh-inning rally weren't enough as Sacramento fell to Tacoma 12-10 on Sunday afternoon at Raley Field.

Brandon Hicks, Adam Rosales, and Anthony Recker each recorded a home run for the River Cats with Hicks notching his 10th of the season. He finished 1-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Rosales finished with two RBIs and two runs scored, going 1-for-4 in Sunday's contest.

Sacramento took the lead first with Hicks' home run, scoring Grant Green, but Tacoma fought back. The teams battled back-and-forth and the Cats took the lead in the seventh inning on a throwing error by Tacoma's Darren Ford in center field. The Rainiers regained the lead, however, in the top of the eighth inning and the River Cats couldn't muster enough offense in the fourth game of the series to mount a comeback. The loss gives Sacramento it's third series-loss of the season.

The four hour, seven minute game bested the season-longest game set the night before, when Saturday's game lasted three hours, 52 minutes..

After an off-day on Monday, the River Cats next home stand begins at 7:05 on a Kids Eat Free Tuesday night presented by California Family Fitness, when the Fresno Grizzlies come to Raley Field. Right-handed River Cat pitcher A.J. Griffin (2-2, 2.78 ERA) will start opposite Grizzlies lefty Brian Burres (4-5, 5.70 ERA).
