MEMPHIS, TN - New Orleans used strong starting pitching to beat Memphis 5-1 Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.

J.D. Martin tossed six sturdy innings to earn the win for the Zephyrs, before being ejected in the seventh inning for arguing with the first base umpire Shaun Francis over a balk that was called. The righty allowed one run on seven hits while issuing no walks and striking out four in his fourth victory of the year. Memphis starter Nick Additon took the loss, allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits while walking three and fanning six across five innings.

Nick Green led New Orleans going 2-for-4 at the plate with two home runs and four RBI while four other Z's chipped in with two hits apiece, for 12 hits overall in the win. Cedric Hunter drove in the 'Birds lone run with a single in the second inning.

Memphis and the entire Pacific Coast League will enjoy an off day tomorrow. The Redbirds head to Omaha on Tuesday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The 'Birds send Brandon Dickson to the mound to face southpaw Doug Davis.
