Tacoma, WA - With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th, Tacoma Rainiers shortstop Kelby Tomlinson raced home on a wild pitch, claiming the three-game series opener against the Omaha Storm Chasers at Cheney Stadium, 3-2.

After recently optioned Matt Carasiti (2-1) stranded the automatic runner in the top of the extra frame, Tomlinson began the home half of the 10th on second base. Tacoma (50-58) newcomer Daniel Castro bunted Tomlinson over to third, and the Texas Tech product scored with Jose Lobaton at the plate when a Jake Newberry breaking ball got by catcher Nick Dini.

Omaha (48-60) took a two-run lead in the top of the fourth but back-to-back doubles by Jaycob Brugman and Jordan Pacheco put Tacoma (50-58) on the board in the bottom of the fifth, 2-1. Later in the inning, John Andreoli singled home Pacheco, knotting the score 2-2.

Pacheco went 1-for-3 with a double on Tuesday night and is currently riding a ten-game hitting streak with at least one double in three of his last four games. The 33-year-old has collected hits in 16 of his 22 games played with the Rainiers.

Anthony Misiewicz made the start for Tacoma and went three shutout frames before giving up two runs in the top of the fourth. The southpaw tossed six innings with two runs allowed (one earned) on three hits, and the 24-year-old collected eight strikeouts, his most in a Triple-A contest.

Major League rehabber Brandon Brennan went 2/3 of the seventh inning and allowed no runs before Matt Festa took over on the mound, striking out the final batter of the frame. The right-hander pitched 2 1/3 innings of perfect baseball with a pair of strikeouts.

The Rainiers look for their second-straight against the Storm Chasers for NW Brew Wednesday, presented by 7 Seas Brewing. Southpaw Sean Nolin (3-1, 3.80) will get the nod for a 7:05 p.m. PDT start to face Omaha right-hander Arnaldo Hernandez (3-7, 7.17) at Cheney Stadium. Mike Curto will have full coverage on South Sound Talk 850 with audio streaming available on the Tacoma Rainiers TuneIn Radio Network.

All tickets, group outings, and suites packages for the 2019 season are available for purchase in person at the Cheney Stadium Box Office, online at TacomaRainiers.com and WeRTacoma.com, or over the phone at (253) 752-7707.
