Grisham the Cyclist: Last night Trent Grisham became the first Missions player to hit for the cycle since Daniel Robertson on May 2, 2011 against Double-A Midland. It was the 20th cycle in MiLB in 2019, eighth in Triple-A, and fifth in the PCL. It was Grisham's second career cycle as he also accomplished the feat on July 9, 2015 with the AZL Brewers against the AZL Indians. He also became the first Missions player with five hits in a game since Yeison Asencio did so on May 23, 2014 at Northwest Arkansas.
On Fire: Trent Grisham is on a modest six-game hitting streak but has four straight multi-hit and multi-run games. In his last four games the center fielder is batting .706 (12-for-17) with 10 runs, 1 double, 1 triple, 3 home runs, and 5 RBI. He has an OBP of .783, SLG of 1.412, and OPS of 2.195.
Best Division: All four teams in the American Southern Division picked up wins last night. The American Southern Division boasts an overall winning percentage of .554 (237-191), which is the highest of any division in MiLB.
Walk This Way: The Missions drew five more walks last night and have drawn at least five walks in eight of their last nine games. The 51 walks drawn by the Missions in those nine games (July 20-present) are the second-most in the PCL behind only Oklahoma City's 55.
Error Free is the Way to Be: The Missions turned in another errorless performance last night, their fourth straight game without committing one. San Antonio's season-long five-game errorless streak came from May 31-June 5. On the season the Missions are 36-11 when they do not commit an error.
Hit Parade: With 12 more hits in last night's victory the Missions have now tallied at least 10 hits in four consecutive games for the third time this season. They went eight straight games with at least 10 hits from July 11-18.
Scoring Frenzy: The Missions scored eight more runs last night and have now scored at least eight runs in five straight games for the second time this season. They also did so from July 11-15.
Career-High Tracker: Cory Spangenberg is one run shy of matching his single-season career-high. He scored 68 runs in 130 games in 2013 between Advanced-A Lake Elsinore and Double-A San Antonio. He has scored 67 runs in just 94 games this season.
