Rainiers Suffer Walk-Off Loss To Chihuahuas, 7-6

EL PASO, Texas - The Tacoma Rainiers (64-72) allowed six runs over the final two innings in a 7-6 loss to the El Paso Chihuahuas (81-55) on Friday night at Southwest University Park.

Shortstop Zach Vincej led the Rainiers offense in hits, collecting three singles and finishing the night going 3-for-4. First baseman Cameron Perkins (1x4, 2B, 3 RBI) collected three RBI, and left fielder Ian Miller (2x5, R) notched multiple hits while also stealing three bases.

Tacoma starter Ross Detwiler commanded the El Paso lineup in his final outing of the year, limiting the Chihuahuas to just one run on five hits over seven innings of work. He issued just one walk, struck out five, and threw 102 pitches (64 strikes). He did not factor into the decision.

Left-hander Marc Rzepczynski (0.2 IP) and right-hander Tyler Higgins (1.0 IP) allowed six runs on six hits over the final 1.2 innings, sending Tacoma to defeat.

Tacoma and El Paso continue their series on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. PT. Rainiers right-hander Christian Bergman (8-10, 5.00) will make his final start of the season while the Chihuahuas will hand the ball to southpaw Logan Allen (4-0, 0.82).
