CLEBURNE, Texas - Levi Scott notched his first multi-extra-base hit night as a Railroader, but the Railroaders gave up a lead in a 6-3 loss to the Sioux Falls Canaries that evened up the series on Wednesday night.

Scott doubled in the 2nd and 3rd innings, but the Railroaders gave up three runs in the 4th inning and lost the lead for good.

Josh Hodges, making his first start of 2018, went six innings and gave up four runs - three earned - but was tagged with his second loss of the year.

Cleburne struck for three runs in the 2nd inning when Rafael Palmeiro led off the frame with an opposite-field homer and Angel Rosa - making his Railroader debut after being acquired from the Kansas City T-Bones earlier in the day - drove in his first RBI for the club with a single. Later in the inning, Rosa scored on an error to give the Railroaders a 3-1 lead.

The Canaries answered in the 4th when David Bergin clubbed a two-run double and Maxx Garrett drove in his first run of the series with a sacrifice fly.

The Birds added to the lead in the 8th on an RBI single from Chris Grayson and later scored on an error.

Sioux Falls starter Dylan Thompson earned his fourth win of the year after giving up three runs over seven innings. James Jones earned the save with a 1-2-3 9th inning.

The Railroaders and Canaries finish the series on Thursday night. RHP Patrick Mincey will throw for the Railroaders and RHP Miles Nordgren will take the hill for Sioux Falls. First pitch time is set for 7:06 p.m. and good seats are still available at www.railroaderbaseball.com or by calling (817) 945-8705.
